3. Avoid junk food. In our culture, we are addicted to sugar and salt. In order to lose fat, train yourself to eat healthy snacks, such as yogurt, fruit and vegetables. Skip the candy, cookies, chips and soda. These give you nothing but extra fat pounds to carry around.
4. Get moving. Experts say we need at least 30 minutes of moderate exercise every day. If you want to lose fat, try to do more. You can increase the intensity or the duration or both. You don’t have to train for the Olympics; just a brisk walk will do wonders. Make a plan to get exercise every day.
5. Think of rewards and comforts other than food. Many of us have been conditioned to head for the cookie jar to reward ourselves for a job well done or to console us when life doesn’t go our way. Think of other things you can do: call a friend, buy yourself some new music, write in a journal. These are just some of the non-food ways to be good to yourself.
